THE PLACE
In 2021, we acquired the Lago Castor Farm. The farm is bordered to the north by the picturesque Lago Castor and to the south by the Argentine border. From the hilltops, you can enjoy incredible views of a transitional landscape featuring the Argentine pampas, idyllic lakes, dense forests, and the majestic Chilean Andes.
The terrain consists of wooded mountain ranges interspersed with long, gentle valleys. The highest hills reach an elevation of about 1,000 meters (approximately 3,281 feet) above sea level.
From the very first moment, this location inspired us to go mountain biking. The routes wind through native forests, across gentle hills, and through valleys to the Argentine border, finally ending at the scenic shores of Lago Castor.
By the summer of 2021/22, we began building the first trails, and today we offer more than 35 kilometers (about 22 miles) of trails, four thrilling enduro descents, and several loops leading to various lookout points with spectacular vistas.
Through the development of Fundo Lago Castor for tourism, we aim to share this breathtaking location exclusively with our guests and provide them with unforgettable experiences in nature.

We are a family-owned business founded by the Swiss brothers Till and Nicolas Schafer. In 1984, we came to Chile with our parents and settled in the beautiful Aysén region.
As passionate nature lovers and sports enthusiasts, especially in mountain biking, we are dedicated to sustainable tourism.
Our vision and mission is the regeneration of the environment. This is reflected in our construction practices, livestock management, and energy production. For the construction of our lodge, we primarily used natural and local materials, allowing our architecture to blend harmoniously with the landscape.
The energy we use daily comes mostly from renewable sources.
